Summer is flying by! We thought we had just sent out an email recently and
looked back at the history and it's been TWO MONTHS! We can hardly believe it! Well, it's time to get you caught up
on what's been happening here at the Moose.
Deliveries have been fast and furious in the last few weeks. All the great stuff we found at market
is starting to arrive, especially fall and winter fabric lines. For a list of what has arrived,
go to our Just In! section below for all the details. Also arriving are new books and patterns from our favorite designers
and new ones we've just discovered.
We're in the process of starting a new store Block Of The Month project. Using the blocks from
our Four Seasons at Minglewood book, we are offering elegant Americana block sets this time. So new that we have not even
named the BOM, the first block set, shown at right, is available now at the Moose.
Just In!
· Sweet Emilie and Carolina by Jo Morton for Andover Fabrics - Jo's two new groups are a study in contrasts. Sweet Emilie is a collection of
light pastel tones of browns, pinks, golds, and blues; Carolina is the dark, rich version of the same colors.
· Believe by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Moda Fabrics - Edyta's winter line of batiks celebrates the closeness of
family. With a bit of northern woods and winter snowflakes, this group makes you want to cuddle in front of a fireplace in
a quilt made of this line.
· Fa La La La La y French General for Moda Fabrics - we count on French General for elegant interpretations of themes. As you can guess from
the name, French General has designed this line for Christmas 2011. With it's elegant prints in turkey reds, forest greens
accented with greys and whites, you'll want to make a quilt to use year round!

other winter themes in a subtle elegant way.

Classes & Clubs
Our quilters are always looking for classes and clubs to expand their quilting skills.
Spring is a great time of year to set aside some time from yard work and gardening to learn a new quilting skill. Check out
our great clubs and keep watching for new classes and clubs to be added.
Jo's Little Women's Club 10
Our latest Little Women's Club started in January, but it's not too late to join in! The Club is 8 months in
length and when you sign up we will get you caught up on the previous meetings so that you are ready to go for the next club
meeting. We always have a great time, so call and sign up. Club dues are $40.
Garden Club
This
club has been hugely popular for those of you who have taken our Beginning Machine Applique class. As a club member you
will making a project from the Garden Club book by Blackbird Designs. The club is four meetings in length and Suzanne
has designed it to improve your machine applique techniques and add new ones while creating your quilt project.
Taupe Club
For the last few years, we've fallen hard for taupes. The Japanese have made these fabrics popular and
we just keep seeing more and more information and projects featuring them. Deb purchased quite a few books (written in Japanese!)
for her personal collection that have inspired us to start a Taupe Club here at the Moose. Meeting once a month
for 6 months, we'll have a new project for you each month starting with a notebook project to help you keep your
project information organized. Meetings are the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. Cost to join this club is
$30 and it's not too late to join in. We'll get you caught up when you sign up for the club so you'll be up to
speed at your first club meeting.
